“Shelter From the Storm” by Bob Dylan
(Words/Music: Bob Dylan, Album: Blood on the Tracks, Columbia 1975)
datetimetunes Bonus Track - the reason should be obvious
I saw this and thought it was a typo. I guess I can try to make up for it by posting it. Sorry, Bob.
Suddenly I turned around and she was standing there
With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair
She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns
“Come in” she said
“I’ll give you shelter from the storm”.

Pretty simple actually. When I started this a couple years ago, I was posting a song a day, so I wanted something that would make people think about music that was a little out of the mainstream. So I made it a variation on the Bob Dylan song “Shelter From the Storm”.
See, now that wasn’t so hard, was it?

Come in, she said, I’ll give you shelter from the storm.
I have a certain love for this song.

“Shelter From the Storm” by Bob Dylan
(Words/Music: Bob Dylan, Album: Blood on the Tracks, Columbia 1975)
No matter what’s going on in my life, whether it be crazy freezing rain storms and mounds of snow outside or the various states of emotional distress, the music of Bob Dylan has always been there to make me feel better. But oddly, his music doesn’t make me feel better because it is always so happy and positive but instead because it’s a reminder of how bleak an existence could be. So as I look outside and see MORE snow coming down and a weather map filled with some otherworldly technicolor spew all over it and I’m reminded that I will eventually need to make up all of these snow days, I am reminded that at least I am looking outside and not living outside. In fact, I do have shelter from the storm.

Bob Dylan - Shelter From The Storm
And if I pass this way again, you can rest assured
I’ll always do my best for her, on that I give my word
In a world of steel-eyed death, and men who are fighting to be warm.
“Come in,” she said, “I’ll give you shelter from the storm.”
